Letter to the Editors: Gold Coast Gazette, Glen Cove Record Pilot

On behalf of the 48-member InterAgency Council of Glen Cove (IAC), please accept our gratitude for the publication of our monthly press releases over the past year. IAC was established in 1971 to improve the delivery of human services through cooperation, communication and coordination of community agencies.

Today, through our monthly meetings, our membership seeks to stay apprised of current local affairs that impact the overall community and strive to address community issues as a group. To this end, we also endeavor to inform the residents of the City of the multiple resources available to them.

Many of IAC's member agencies are only contacted in emergency situations. It is therefore important to frequently inform residents of the various services and programs the City has to offer should they find themselves in need. It is also vital that residents who perhaps are dealing with a difficult personal, family, domestic, health or abuse problem know that there are agencies in the community available to assist them. No one should slip through the cracks in a community with so many quality social services.

It is with sincere appreciation we recognize your publication's contribution to making the community's resources more visible. Knowing of the existence of a particular human service being available can also convince individuals who perhaps are reluctant to seek help...to finally do so!
