Mayor Installs IAC's New Officers for 2002-2004

IAC Photo The June meeting of InterAgency Council of Glen Cove, Ltd, (IAC) was hosted by North Shore University Hospital. Executive Director, Mark Stenzler, welcomed members and was invited to bring them up-to-date on the hospital’s development project. Stenzler pointed out that the hospital’s rehabilitation unit and the fifteen million dollar emergency room enable individuals to come to Glen Cove as a destination hospital. Other changes will take place over the next three years according to Stenzler who added, "The new conference room will facilitate educational instruction since the hospital is a teaching hospital." Dr. Vogrin thanked our host and invited members to engaged in a question and answer period. Dr. John Imhof provided an overall view of the mental health facilities available at the hospital. In answer to the question of nursing staff shortages, Stenzler explained, "Unlike other hospitals, NSUHGC has a lower vacancy and attrition rate for nurses."

IAC with more than 40 member agencies was established in 1971. The primary mission is to enhance the delivery of human services through collaboration and communication, and to provide mutual support among community agencies through sharing and networking. Please visit our website at www.iacglencove.org for more information about services, events, and our member agencies. Member agencies are encouraged to have a representative attend the monthly meetings. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2002, at 9 a.m. hosted by City Hall.
