Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp installed the officers and board members for the 2004-2006 term at a swearing in ceremony held recently. The June meeting was hosted Paula Hinton, ACSW, coordinator of Intake Services at NSUH, in the Toffler Conference room. Prior to the swearing in ceremony, Hinton introduced Dennis Connors, the recently appointed executive director and Dr. James Thompson, director of Community Psychiatry & Substance Abuse Services. Both welcomed the IAC membership that is celebrating thirty-three years of service to the Glen Cove Community. The original concept for the IAC was developed under the auspices of the Community Hospital at Glen Cove as part of a University based community service project. Many of the original agencies continue active participation today.

InterAgency Council of Glen Cove’s mission “is to enhance the delivery of human services through collaboration and communication, and to provide mutual support among community agencies through sharing and networking.” Membership in IAC includes a snapshot of an agency’s services on IRC’s website, a listing in the annual printed directory and monthly breakfast meetings from September 2004 through June 2005 with speakers and time networking. For additional information on membership, please contact Arlene O’Dell at 671-4141.
