- Centers for Disease Control & Prevention
The National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) is an initiative
that promotes the use of data and information system standards to advance the
development of efficient, integrated, and interoperable surveillance systems at
federal, state and local levels. Surveillance Systems collect and monitor
data for disease trends and/or outbreaks so that public health personnel can
protect the nation's health.
- Adolescent and School Health
Also from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, this
site helps to widely disseminate the latest data and statistics about youth health topics
and risk behaviors, the CDC's Adolescent and School Health Program has developed numerous
resources.
- Forum on Child and Family Statistics
This web site offers easy access to federal and state statistics and reports on
children and their families, including: population and family characteristics, economic
security, health, behavior and social environment, and education.
- KIDS Count Data Online
The challenge of helping rebuild distressed communities is at the center
of the Annie E. Casey Foundation's grant-making plans for the next decade.
Working with neighborhoods and state and local governments, the Foundation
will provide significant grants and other forms of assistance to a limited
number of sites in a long-term effort to strengthen the support services,
social networks, physical infrastructure, employment, self-determination,
and economic vitality of distressed communities.
- Monitoring the Future
Monitoring the Future is an ongoing study of the behaviors, attitudes, and
values of American secondary school students, college students, and young adults.
Each year, a total of some 50,000 8th, 10th and 12th grade students are surveyed
(12th graders since 1975, and 8th and 10th graders since 1991.) In addition, annual
follow-up questionnaires are mailed to a sample of each graduating class for a
number of years after their initial participation.

The Research Room provides information about records in the State Archives and
more than 1500 historical organizations around New York. Archives can also
direct you to information about historical records in local governments,
historical societies, libraries, museums, archives, and other organizations
around New York. Historical record repositories collect and make available
records of businesses; religious, social and fraternal organizations; ethnic
and other groups, as well as the papers of individuals and families who lived
and worked in New York.

The County Health Indicator Profiles are a summary of selected statistics
for each New York State county as well as New York State, New York City, and
New York State exclusive of New York City.
- NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Data Mart
The OASAS data warehouse - DataMart provides government planners,
providers, and researchers with community-level alcohol and substance abuse
(ASA) information. OASAS has created the DataMart to support state and local
alcohol and substance abuse planning and program development. DataMart users
can access OASAS data as well as a variety of community alcohol and substance
abuse indicators from one centralized location; data from other state agencies
as well as links to other agencies' websites are provided.
